OWH Sketch Challenge #32

I've had this rubber stamp (All Night Media) for awhile, but I waited until I had the Cuttlebug Paisley Embossing Folder, which I used on the purple background. I colored the paisley image with Prismacolor pencils. I put a strip of Purple Swirls vellum paper, made by World Win, on top of white paper. I like how the swirls tie in with the paisley theme. There's a tiny bit of PP peeking out, from My Mind's Eye Summer Papers pad. Have a good week!

This card is dedicated to my Mom...

I was so inspired by this image I found at Digital Two for Tuesday that I made this card. My late Mom was born in 1908 and was very talented at drawing, although as a mother of eight she did not pursue her talent. She would always doodle little "Gibson Girl" faces. I know she would love this image and I'm pretty sure she'd love my card.

I used
Embossing folders: Cuttlebug

Sweet Petites Grosgrain Fancies ribbon
I stamped "I Love You" on a square of PP in my stash and I don't know where I got that stamp
Pearls and blue rhinestones.
I adapted OWH Sketch #5, which was 'way before my time (with OWH, that is, hahaha). Take care and thanks for stopping by!

OWH Sketch Challenge #31

This little $1 clear stamp, which I dug out of a bin at A.C. Moore (please pass the hand sanitizer), got me started on this card! Ingredients:
PP: Lasting Impression's Cherry Pie and Weathered White (love them)
Cosmo Cricket: it's either called Twist & Shout or Get Happy (accidentally threw away half of the name again). This is the paper I used for the two strips. I like that it almost has a tiny chicken wire pattern on it
No-name corrugated paper (purchased at A. C. Moore, my second home)
Burgundy beading twine, tiny punched leaves, sparkly button
VersaMagic chalk ink pad in Jumbo Java
Jim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo
"Turkey Stop" stamp, who will remain anonymous...
Thanks for stopping by!

OWH Midweek throwdown: Michelle Perkett image

After I finished a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about my 12 years of school uniforms, I colored "Mary Margaret" with Prismacolor pencils! I tried to make it look like she has on tiny black and white saddle shoes and had to add my freckles, lol!

Card for kids

I made this card from the kit that Holley Smith included in my order from Stampin' Up. I thought it might be too late for back-to-school OWH cards, so I put some stars on the outside and inside, and put "You're a Star". I thought Mom or Dad could send it home if one of the kids did something good at school or tried their best. The stamp is from SU's Greeting Card Kids set; so cute!

Midweek throwdown: Autumn card

It is about 101 here in Arlington, VA today so it's nice to think about autumn! I didn't save the name of my PP, sorry! I used the Argyle embossing folder on the deep orange paper. I decided to draw a little picture of leaves and acorns. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and put little dots around the edge with a gold pen to kind of look pierced.
Think cool!

Sketch challenge #29

I was watching StampTV one day (I love watching Gina K!). She made a Christmas card by taking two colors of distress ink and [effortlessly] swiping them across the card. Then she stamped it with an evergreen tree image. When I tried it today, I found that I need a lot more practice with effortless swiping, so I tried just taking a distress ink pad (Tea Dye) and lightly stamping the ink pad onto card stock. Then I stamped the fisherman. To me it looks like he is fishing in a little glade of trees and a pond.
Deets: St Emma patterned paper; Inkadinkado corner stamp; Hampton Arts sentiment; no label on fisherman stamp; Jim Holtz distress ink; Color Box black pigment stamp pad
Have a good week!

OWH Sketch #28

This card may be a little too "pink"! Perhaps it was a response to all the Christmas and Halloween colors I've been working with for the past few days, :-)
FYI, I used:
Bazill Basics paper
A paper called "Citronella Roundos" but I can't find who makes it
Hampton Arts and Stampendous stamps (sentiment)
Paper lace "ribbon"
Nestabilities large ovals

Hope you have a good week!
